Objective 1: Supporting People
Identify and focus on individuals experiencing poverty and social exclusion in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown. This will involve an analysis of various data sets and other evidence of need..
Southside Partnership is a well-established local development company operating in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown, County Dublin. We work with a variety of agencies and organisations so that individuals, groups and communities can find ways to bring about positive change and create more hopeful prospects for people who experience unemployment, poverty and social exclusion.
Established in 1996, the Partnership has adapted and changed over the years, but we have continually stayed true to our ethos of working in partnership with others to support the people and communities who are in some way marginalised in our society. We are now operating in a new local government landscape, a changed funding environment and we have to deal with the challenges that recent years of austerity have presented for the communities that we serve.
However, the Partnership’s long experience of involving people and groups in discovering their own solutions is still at the centre of how our supports are developed and delivered. We continue to oversee a wide range of interconnected programmes and hosted projects that are tailored to the needs of those whom we support.

As set out in our Strategic Plan, Southside Partnership has been focusing on four strategic objectives that capture the Partnership’s ambition for 2015-2018. To support the achievement of the first three objectives, we have identified a fourth enabling objective to maximise the organisation’s capacity to deliver the outcomes that our target groups and communities deserve. Several strategic actions are contained in each objective. Each objective and its actions are strongly interlinked with the others, and are not listed in any order of importance.
