Spunout.ie Workshop / 'How to Engage with Young People Online'

Southside Community Training Network will be collaborating with Spunout.ie to provide a FREE workshop to professionals working with young people in DLR on how to engage with young people online.

Here is some further information about the session:

As we all know, young people are spending more and more of their time online. This adds a new challenge to youth workers and volunteers who are looking to capture their time and attention, but are used to in-person settings. Most youth workers are now interested in expanding their engagement with young people to online spaces, or in promoting their opportunities for young people online. But there are many challenges when it comes to achieving this. At the end of the day, we want to reach young people where they are, and where they are, for better or worse, is online.

In SpunOut.ie's workshop 'How to Engage with Young People Online' those who work to engage young people can learn: What are the online behaviours of young people and how can we best reach them? What online platforms are young people most using? How can we use online platforms and social media to engage and promote youth work opportunities to young people? What types of online engagement work with our target audience? What are the best practices of online engagement with young people and what methods work? How do we tailor our message to different online platforms or age groups/demographics?

The course will be taking place at Shanganagh Park House in Shankill from 10.30am-1pm.
