Spunout.ie Workshop 'Social Media's Impact on Young Peoples' Mental Health'

Wednesday, 24. October 2018 - 10:00 till 13:00

Spunout.ie Workshop / 'Social Media's Impact on Young People's Mental Health'

Southside Community Training Network will be collaborating with Spunout.ie to provide a FREE workshop to professionals working with young people in DLR on the impact of social media on young people's mental health.

From Instagram, to Facebook and Twitter, it seems that Social Media is becoming an ever-present part of our lives. With this burgeoning area of online life come new challenges for young people struggling to navigate the difficult waters of relationships, safety, self esteem, and self-image.

Many questions come to mind... How healthy is social media for young people? What impact is social media having on young people's mental health and self-esteem? What safety tips and advice should we be sharing with the young people?

All of this and more will be discussed in SpunOut.ie's 'Social Media's Impact on Mental Health' workshop, where we report directly from young people how social media is affecting their lives and how we as youth workers can best support them.

The course will be taking place at Blackrock Education Centre on Oct 24th 2018 from 10am-1pm.
