Self Employment Supports

A total of 266 people engaged with Southside Partnership DLR staff for SICAP supports in relation to self-employment. 102 people progressed into self-employment in 2019.

 

Our support services to those thinking of becoming self-employed include:

  • Regular self-employment Information Sessions. Please contact us to book your place as availability is limited.
  • One-to-one guidance on progressing your business idea.
  • Support in applying for the DEASP Back to Work Enterprise Allowance (BTWEA) 
    and Short Term Enterprise Allowance (STEA).
  • Access to self-employment related training.

The DLR Local Enterprise Office (LEO) serves as a first stop shop to provide support and services to start, grow and develop micro business in the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown area.

Microfinance Ireland

Microfinance Ireland (MFI) has been established to deliver the Government’s Microenterprise Loan Fund. Unsecured loans from €2,000 up to €25,000 with terms from 3 to 5 years. All business sectors are eligible to apply.

The Design & Crafts Council of Ireland

The Design & Crafts Council of Ireland (DCCoI), provide a range of programmes, supports and services for designers and craftspeople, learners and teachers, retailers and gallerists, shoppers and collectors, media and partner organisations in order to raise the standard and profile of Irish design and craft.
