Our employment support teams work side-by-side with local people every day to explore inclusive pathways into employment and self-employment. Grounded in the principles of social inclusion, our mission aligns with national policies and community-led initiatives to remove barriers and ensure equal opportunity for all.
We recognise that people who are long-term unemployed can often face multiple and overlapping challenges—such as limited education, mental and physical health challenges, homelessness, addiction issues and marganalisation. As such we will continue to leverage our resources and targeted supports—including Community Employment, the Tús Programme, the Local Area Employment Services, and Social Enterprise development—to foster empowering and nurturing environments for all. Through customised guidance, hands-on training, peer-based support and sign posting to available services to support their needs outside employment, we aim to help people build transferable skills, reconnect with their community and reclaim control over their futures. Together, we’re paving the way for sustainable livelihoods and a more inclusive society where everyone has the chance to thrive. Everyone deserves a fair chance—and together, we’re making it happen.
Southside Partnerships Pre-Employment supports (funded through the Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme) provide one-to-one guidance and training to help people reach their potential and achieve their goals.
Tús is a work placement programme that helps people who are unemployed gain valuable work experience in their local community.
Community Employment (CE) is a programme that helps people who are long-term unemployed, or who face other challenges, to get back into work.
With CE, you can take up a part-time placement (19.5 hours per week) in a local community or voluntary group. You can also take up other part-time work at the same time if you wish.
Southside Partnership DLR delivers the Local Area Employment Services (LAES) in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, supporting jobseekers referred by Intreo. Whether you’re looking for full-time employment or planning to start your own business, LAES offers tailored guidance to help you reach your goals. Our team provides one-to-one support, training opportunities, and access to local employers, ensuring you have the tools and confidence to succeed.
Becoming self-employed can open new doors. It can give you the chance to use your skills, create your own opportunities and have more control over your time and your life. But while starting a business can be exciting it can also feel a bit daunting. That’s why we’re here, to support you if you want to move from unemployment into self-employment.
