The Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) 2024-2028 is co-funded by the Irish Government through the Department of Rural and Community Development and the European Union through the Europe Social Fund Plus under the Employment, Inclusion, Skills, and Training (EIST) Programme 2021-2027.
Social Prescribing is about supporting the health and wellbeing of people by helping them to connect with local, community-based activities as well as national and online supports. The DLR Social Prescribing Team will talk to you about what activities interest you or what supports you may need and will then assist you in availing of these activities.
Our SWAP programme is funded by Healthy Ireland and SICAP (Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme) and supports community groups of older people and people with disabilities to take part in classes that promote positive mental health and good health and wellbeing in their local community.
The New Arrivals Support Team offers essential supports to Ukrainians and International Protection applicants living in accommodation centres and host families across Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown (DLR). We work closely with individuals and families – men, women, and children, to help them integrate into their new communities and begin building a positive future in Ireland. Through compassionate engagement and practical assistance, we aim to foster resilience, independence, and a strong sense of belonging for all those we support.
Supported through Tús, CE and Age Action Ireland our free Care & Repair Service helps vulnerable older people in the Dún Laoghaire Rathdown area with essential pieces of work in their homes.
