Tús Programme

Tús is a work placement programme that helps people who are unemployed gain valuable work experience in their local community.

Home Services Employment & Enterprises Tús Programme

If you are unemployed and looking for your first job, or returning to work after some time off, Tús can help you:

  • build confidence
  • strengthen your CV
  • develop new skills
  • get back into a regular work routine

With Tús, you will work 19.5 hours a week for up to 12-months. The work is community-based and makes a real difference to local groups and voluntary organisations.

Most eligible people are referred to Tús through Intreo. but you can also apply directly to us if you are interested. Participants get a weekly top-up on their social welfare payment and keep extra benefits, including the medical card (provided they are still eligible).

Our experienced Tús Team Leaders will help match your skills and future goals with a suitable local placement, where possible. You can also take on other part-time work during your time on Tús, as long as it does not clash with your placement. If you are offered full-time work, you can leave Tús to take up the opportunity. Our Tús Team Leaders will work with you and support you throughout your time on the programme.
